WEEE GUIDANCE PUBLISHED

At long last, the DTI has published its official guidance to the WEEE regulations implementing the EU Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive. This is available at the DTI web site at: http://www.dti.gov.uk/innovation/sustainability/weee/page30269.html
The Guidance is quite readable and covers issues in a frequently asked questions form. The CBI regrets, however, that there are still some questions for members that are not answered by the document, particularly in the business to business area. The CBI continues to press for further clarification. All Members are reminded that it may now be wise to consider responsibility for waste electrical equipment within purchase orders
