Energy Using Products (EuP) Directive - 19 June 2008
The EuP Directive, commonly known as the Ecodesign Directive, was launched on the 6 July 2005. The initial tranche of products to be considered under the Directive was decided in 2006 and work on these products has now reached the stage where the manufacturers have to make their recommendations on how they will meet the demands of the Directive.
The second tranche of products to be considered under the Directive is now being considered and initial indications are that 'Industrial and Laboratory Furnaces and Ovens' will be included.If this is confirmed the implications for the industry could be very serious.
CECOF, the European Committee of Industrial Furnaces and Heating Equipment, is representing the industry in discussions with the EU and we will post further information as it becomes available.
